Modeling in Taipei

Taiwan

Taipei connects Taiwanese designer brands, fashion showcases and commercial image production. Taipei Fashion Week can reveal local creatives, but runway programmes and brand selection lists are not public model applications.

Market and runway

Taipei's cultural authorities describe the fashion week as a platform for Taiwanese designers and creative collaboration. Compare runway briefs with product, lookbook and beauty photography. A fashion event may support professional networking but is not a guarantee of paid modeling work.

Fashion calendar

The Taiwan Tourism Administration lists the Taipei Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 season from 15 to 18 October 2026 at the contemporary culture site C-LAB. Those October dates are historical, and individual model castings must be verified independently of the official programme.

Work permits and residency

Taiwan's Workforce Development Agency identifies art/performance and contracted professional work among regulated categories for foreign workers. Normally a relevant work permit and immigration status must be confirmed; some eligible artistic freelancers have their own permit route. Not every model qualifies as an artist, and tourist entry alone should not be treated as authorisation.

FAQ

Does Taipei Fashion Week accept unsolicited model portfolios? Do not assume so. Follow a verified casting or agency application channel and confirm whether a foreign-model work permit is needed.

Runway, lookbook and beauty work are different

A Taipei show may require model selection, measurement checks, fittings, rehearsal and an early call time. A beauty assignment may instead require clean face close-ups; a lookbook may depend on fit and natural full-length images. A designer on the Fashion Week programme does not necessarily run an open casting.

Request the responsible production, dates, pay, clothing requirements, photographer, image-use territories and licence duration. Submit current portrait/profile/full-length digitals; add a runway-walk video only if requested. Confirm work eligibility through the actual Taiwanese contracting organisation.

Travel to the actual venue

Taipei Rapid Transit publishes the official metro map and timetables. Check the studio or runway's actual address, rather than assuming every brand shoots at C-LAB. Plan connections and the route after the final rehearsal, including service hours.

Application checklist — Taipei

Prepare recent unretouched digitals, accurate measurements and a portfolio tailored to the brief. Ask the client to confirm the project, dates, location, fee, image usage rights and travel terms in writing.

Before accepting paid work, check the applicable entry and work authorization with the hiring party and the relevant immigration or labour authority. A fashion event is not evidence of an open casting. Research agencies through Directory and check dated opportunities in Castings.
