Entry and paid work
Singapore's Ministry of Manpower specifically includes fashion shows and some location filming among Work Pass Exempt activities under conditions. Eligible foreign models must have the appropriate Short-Term Visit Pass, be engaged before entering, and notify MOM after arrival and before working. General advertising or catalogue photography must not automatically be assumed exempt.

Read the assignment before choosing the portfolio
For a runway engagement, ask who is arranging the cast, the fitting and the rehearsal. A fitting session, rehearsal and actual show may happen at different venues or on different days. Confirm how many days are included in the fee, whether any images are licensed separately, and who contacts the model if the call sheet changes.
Fashion show, commercial campaign or design event?
A beauty or e-commerce shoot is a separate commercial production: request the intended media, campaign length, territories and any video or social-media use. DesignSingapore's exhibitions are useful background on the creative scene but do not automatically offer modeling assignments. For a verified brief, send relevant digitals through the agency or casting channel; do not treat trade registration as an application.
Travel between fittings and studios
Singapore's LTA publishes maps and journey-planning information for its MRT and LRT networks. Compare the studio or backstage entrance—not merely a shopping centre's name—with the nearest station and any transfer. Leave time for security checks and fitting changes. If a specific activity is proposed under MOM's work-pass exemption, verify that the engagement predates travel and that MOM notification is filed after arrival but before starting the activity.
Before applying in Singapore
Prepare recent unretouched digitals, current measurements and a portfolio suited to the assignment. Request the client’s identity, shoot dates, location, fee, image usage rights and travel terms in writing.
For paid work, confirm the applicable work authorization with the hiring party and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Attendance at an industry event or entry as a visitor does not itself authorize paid modelling.
