Creative opportunities
Sofia combines commercial photography, catalogues, digital campaigns and a wider audiovisual industry. Models and creators should show work suited to the client's format, rather than rely on fashion imagery alone. Independent designers and studios are useful starting points for a focused search.
Neighbourhoods and local life
Vitosha Boulevard and central Sofia are convenient for meetings; Serdika is an important interchange. Lozenets is more residential, and studios may sit farther out. The metro connects the airport and centre, complemented by trams, trolleybuses and buses. Check first-service times for early jobs.
Budget and preparation
Compare lodging with the studio address, not only the tourist centre; include transport and equipment costs. Bulgarian uses Cyrillic, so save addresses in the original script. Settle usage rights, exclusivity, retouching and payment in writing, and verify permission for paid work.
Photography locations
For a commercial day, distinguish the first indoor studio booking from an exterior sequence near Vitosha Boulevard. Serdika is an easy meeting reference, but a street-side shoot and a booked set have different permission requirements. A wardrobe checklist in Bulgarian and English can make a mixed local-international crew more efficient.
Transport for assignments
The airport metro station is beside Terminal 2, and travellers arriving at Terminal 1 can use the inter-terminal shuttle. At Serdika, M4 offers the central connection and interchange to M2 for the main rail and bus stations. Check the actual timetable and terminal before setting a call time; the metro does not replace every surface journey.
