Vietnamese permits and timing
As of 2 November 2026, Vietnam's Decree 219/2025 on foreign workers remains in force. Decree 393/2026 was issued on 20 October but is not scheduled to take effect until 5 December 2026. Before accepting a paid job, a Vietnamese employer or qualified adviser should check the applicable work permit or exemption and immigration documents for the actual contract.
Practical question
Does attending VIATT allow me to model commercially? No. A trade exhibition is not a casting or a work permit; ask the actual producer about the contract and applicable law.

Match a textile-market niche to a real photo brief
VIATT 2027 is planned for 24–26 February at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh. Its organiser lists fabrics, garment accessories, sportswear and intimates. These categories help a model prepare relevant commercial images; visitor or exhibitor registration does not represent casting.
For catalogues and fit-model work, ask for garment type, fitting procedure, measurement tolerance, days and pay. For lingerie or swimwear, discuss the intended images, privacy on set, whether fitting or movement tests are required, and publication rights before agreeing. Confirm the client and producer in a dated casting brief.
Travel and legal dates
Ho Chi Minh City's Bến Thành–Suối Tiên Metro Line 1 began operating in December 2024. A studio may be elsewhere, and SECC is a trade-fair venue, not necessarily a photoshoot location. Check the actual call-sheet address and travel plan. Vietnam's new Decree 393/2026 does not take effect until 5 December 2026, so confirm rules applicable on the work date.
Application checklist
Prepare recent unretouched digitals, accurate measurements and a portfolio tailored to the brief. Ask the client to confirm the project, dates, location, fee, image usage rights and travel terms in writing.
