Creative opportunities

Belgrade's creative economy brings together lifestyle campaigns, music visuals, independent labels and editorial projects. Distinguish paid briefs from informal collaborations and verify who is commissioning the work before sharing personal documents or arranging a shoot.

Neighbourhoods and local life

Dorćol offers galleries and meeting spots; Savamala and the waterfront have a different production atmosphere. New Belgrade has larger modern spaces, but travel across bridges can take time. Public buses, trams and trolleybuses operate across the city; confirm current routes for early calls.

Budget and preparation

Serbia uses the dinar. Check whether fees and deposits are quoted in dinars or euros, and include taxis in your accommodation comparison. Written terms should cover image rights, exclusivity, retouching and payment. For international assignments, check the permission applying to your passport.

Photography locations

A practical two-part portfolio could contrast the smaller streets of Dorćol with the contemporary scale of New Belgrade. Allow enough time for the river crossing, especially when the call sheet places makeup and the set in separate districts. Before bringing a large camera rig into a venue, agree on access and storage.

Transport for assignments

A significant local detail: Belgrade made its integrated city and suburban public transport free for passengers from 1 January 2025. Buses, trams and trolleybuses therefore need not be priced as regular tickets in the local travel budget. This does not make taxis, private transfers or intercity journeys free; check routes and schedules.
